Pairing Foods with Herbs |
Students will use their sense of smell
and touch to learn how to pair herbs with foods. The instructor
will guide you toward certain pairings and explain why those
selections are logical, but you will be encouraged to experiment
with varying textures, tastes and aromas to create your own
unique blends.
More than 15 herbs, grown and dried in the
instructor's garden will be offered for you to experience
during the class. Each student will leave with six different
herb blends and recipes which will take you 'step by step'
through using the herb blends in your own kitchen.
You will
also prepare and taste a beautiful and impressive pairing
of lemon thyme and white wine cream sauce over swordfish.
Other herb blends you will create and take home are seasonings
for: Turkey dressing; Prime Rib; Spaghetti sauce (with a
twist); dill and curry for carrots; and dill and lemon zest
for asparagus or green beans. |
